With this in mind, while outsourcing can provide varied expertise it also creates another layer between brands and their customers. “Brands that rely more on external agencies are essentially outsourcing their competitive advantage,” added Deloitte, who emphasises that no one knows the brand, customers and organisation better than the company itself. Therefore in order to build an effective insourcing strategy, companies should assess workflows, technology and skill sets to determine the most efficient and effective method for delivering content.
